Design Concept

This modern beach house design with a detached yoga studio balances timeless elegance with subtle modern industrial influences, thoughtfully designed to reflect the rugged beauty of West Vancouver’s coastline. A neutral, organic palette serves as the foundation—soft linens, warm oak, natural stone, and hand-troweled plaster—layered with rich textures that invite warmth and depth. Accents of burnt orange and muted yellow weave through the spaces, offering a refined contrast that nods to sun-bleached driftwood and late-summer coastal sunsets. Expansive glazing blurs the line between indoors and out, grounding the home in its natural surroundings.

Industrial elements are introduced with intention—blackened steel framing, exposed hardware, and tactile, raw finishes—providing structure and contrast to the softness of natural materials. The result is a sophisticated yet approachable retreat where modern living meets enduring design. Every detail honours a commitment to craftsmanship, material integrity, and the effortless rhythm of coastal life.
